This article is about Black Excellence, not a critique of Kendrick Lamar's show, which, like it or not, was highly acclaimed as a success by all the metrics American capitalism likes to use, including ratings and ad dollars. So regardless of whether either of us enjoyed the show, I'm more of a Blues and Jazz person myself, by all definitions that count in commerce, Lamar's show kicked ass.
